This is a "how to" step by step about installing software on mobile cell phones, and their alternatives, written by BocaEnBoca.com mobile phone software developers. It is also help full to install photos and videos. a.- Through internet from a computer:
First, there is on the internet quite a lot of places where is possible to find any kind of software for mobile cell phones, as bocaenboca.com, usually also know as midlets.
Files are mostly named with extensions ".jar" for Java, presently on allmost every cell phone, and ".sys" for symbian devices as Nokias. Where availabe consider to choose ".sys" symbian software as its quality and performance are gratly improved compared to ".jar" Java files.
Second, once you download ".jar" or ".sys" file, to your computer there is mainly four alternatives to choose from in order to install / copy the software of your election on mobile cell phones:
1.- IRdA Infrared port: Highly recomended for laptop computer users as IRdA Infrared port is presently in every one of them as well as PDA devices, and it is the easiest way.
1.0.- Turn On IRdA Infrared port on your mobile cell phone, by going to "Connectivity" / "Infrared Port" on Symbian phones as Nokias.
1.1.- Place Mobile Cell Phone and computer infrared ports one in front each other, and automatically should appear on Windows XP systems a Screen named "Wireless Link", that allows to easily send files from your computer, by choosing the file and clicking on button "Send". Then, just accept incoming file in your mobile phone, which will be recieved in your "message inbox" as any SMS Short Message.
If "Wireless Link" screen does not appear on your computer, then: you can try either to send any file from your cell phones, go to "galery" choose a photo, "Options" / "Send" / "Infrared Port" and your computer will open screen "Wireless Link" that way. or "Right click" on the file you want to send, / "Send to" / "Infrared device".
Unlikely, there is no way to send software from a mobile phone to another through Infrared port without installing first a software specifically designed for it.
2.- Bluetooth: You can send files to your bluetooth enabled mobile phone from a bluetooth enabled computer. If your computer does not have a bluetooth port, you can get one in any electronics / computer store, for less than 25 euros, there is bluetooth 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, and 2.0 +, being differences on speed data transfer and maximum distance they can reach from 10 to 100 metres, but software is allways standard whatever the manufacturer / brand is.
After installing bluetooth device on your computer, simply go to the file to be transfered to the mobile phone "Right clik" on it and choose "Send to" "Bluetooth", will look for Bluetooth devices surrounding, choose yours, will ask you to "Pair" both devices: Enter same number you prefer in both mobile phone and computer screens and connection will stablish. Then, just accept incoming file in your mobile phone, which will be recieved in your "message inbox" as any SMS Short Message.
Unlikely, there is no way to send software from a mobile phone to another through bluetooth without installing first a software specifically designed for it.
3. Data Cable: That connects your Mobile Phones to your computer. Use Sync Software supplied by your Mobile Phones maker to send files to your Mobile phone as Nokia PC Suite or similar. If your mobile does not privide one, you can buy one from your manufacturer, keeping in mind they are not standard, so for nokia phones you should use a "DKU_2 Data cable", Motorola ones use usb to mini usb data cables and so on.
4. Memory cards that allows you to copy files from you computer into the card memory as a floppy disk, and simply insert the memory card in your Mobile Phones slot. You also can move file from the memory card to your Mobile phone´s internal memory, so that it will always be there. Memory cards for cell phones are something of non standards, if you want to buy one be sure to ask for one for your especific mobile phone maker and modell.
You can find Bluetooth adapters and memory cards readers in most computer and electronics stores.
5.- If you have email on your mobile phone, you can send you a email with file attached to it, not recomended as you will be charged for internet conections by your mobile operator, wich today is quite expensive.

2.- Send from another mobile phone a SMS Short Message with the link to internet where the file you wish to install is located.
3.- Danger To Avoid: Sending Premium SMS to any service, but be carefull as it is probable you need several for a single download at a high tarrif or worst to suscribe and pay daily, wich is futhermore very difficult to unsuscribe.
